e and bitter. I can say to this day That I do still hate Some Things indiscriminately and with extreme prejudice upon first sight, But I always still think to this day back to That Moment When I grew up a little That day, and I embrace it, and study it. Eventually And Through this, people love anything dog, events for the Ways It Was Hated eleven - Those attributes Actually Becoming the Things That Are Most appreciated. So That is my story about Being Humble, learning to take a step back, calm the hell down, and Actually Listen to What is being Said to you, Giving it all to chance - using your head. I always feel very blessed and open to the feeling of Being Humbled now-a-days. (Yeah, by the way, I love watching the guy play now, great sense of humor too.)
something else in my life that has really humbled me.
I have already mentioned in a previous post ( How This all Began ) how I just got involved in Rotary International’s Youth Exchange Program and now I would like to detail the international part of my experience working with the group here in district 4340 in the Club
Abrazo de Maipú.
The facts of the matter: My chairman of the club who I am working with here is Sr. Ricardo Estrada González. Now, I have heard many opinions about the man from many people including host families, rotarians as well as other exchange students. But in my book, he is a good man for what he is doing ie: helping run a program of crossing international boundary and Thought and I imagine HAVING to take care and Coordinate a bunch of people, young and old people Especially Who Must live with eachother, Would Be a tough job, so now I can UNDERSTAND after Sometimes 6 months historical policy of tough love. Yes There Have Been Sent home for students doing Stupid Things, But I believe events in the Midst of Their Own regret and remorse That They Will come to realize What kind of responsibility, liability
Not to mention a man in
That Would Have historical position on His shoulders. When Things Need to get done, I Is Certain to get Them That Way although I will say That Sometimes the South American attitude of Many Things of Urgency Being put aside in the Manner of 'it will get done (evmall things like that go a long way to show that yes there are rules, but sometimes people will go out of their way to perhaps bend them in your favor. Another great example would be one I learned of a couple weeks ago at a presentation and dinner put together by Abrazo de Maipú. One outbound of Chile who had already spent a year abroad in Boston in the US had asked if another exchange year was possible – it was thought over and seen that the rules didn’t deny her of another opportunity. Now she shall be living in Holland for a year, having already done spectacular in school and being finished here while still meeting the age requirements of the YEP program. Overal too, I am very impressed with the amount of activities that Rotary puts together he all needed to meet at 8:00 hours sharp to go over the rules again and that part was true. What we did not know is the whole truth about what we were going to do.
After being welcomed and once all the students who were summoned had arrived we finally got down to business – Ricardo Estrada front and center of a group of more than thirty students. (Proceeding Translated) ‘Very well then, it is great to see you all here this morning. What, all in conjunction, are the four D’s? Reciting hem all as a group, the man gets this grin that tells everyone that something is up – and that was it, no harsh lecture or horror stories, nobody lost their head. The meeting turned out to be a really helpful and informative question and answer session in light of a student who was bI once saw a graph of the average emotional roller coaster/ culture shock experience of a student abroad and it was the month of December and we had all been in a deep trough on the graph at this point. We ate, talked, and had an all around good time changing buttons on our Rotary exchange Jackets and practicing to speak. It was around desert, just after the delicious flan, that something very special was about to happen. They always say this about what is going to happen next and you can never see it coming. ‘Students and Rotarians and alike, I would now like to present you with our afternoon entertainment.’ announced chairman Estrada, ‘Please focus your attention on not only your chef for the day, but as well as your magician.’ Now I have always been a fan and ing for someone Could Do Another a token of What They do for all of us here, Letting us Be a part of Them - making us all we. And I Leave You With That, as I am sure I will Have to Tell Another Story for Another Time.
